Lighthouse Canton accelerates India wealth expansion with senior leadership appointments

The appointments underscore Lighthouse Canton's ambition to double assets under management to US$10 billion by 2027, with India as a core growth engine

Global investment institution Lighthouse Canton has appointed Gurjeet Sohi as Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management for India, strengthening its leadership team as the company builds a scaled, institutionalised platform aligned with long-term growth objectives in the country.

Gurjeet brings nearly three decades of experience from Deutsche Bank, where he held senior roles across wealth management and private banking. He will oversee the continued development of Lighthouse Canton's India operations, focusing on strengthening client engagement, expanding UHNW coverage, and deepening the integration of the company's global wealth and asset management capabilities.

He will be supported by Atin Kumar Saha, Vice Chairman, Wealth Management and Sanjay Sharma, Executive Director, Wealth Management, who have also joined the India wealth leadership team to drive the company’s growth and expansion in India across key markets.

The appointments comes as Lighthouse Canton scales its India presence in response to sustained client demand and the growing shift toward institutional-grade wealth solutions. The company plans to double its assets under management to US$10 billion by 2027, with India positioned as one of its strongest growth engines.

Shilpi Chowdhary, Group CEO of Lighthouse Canton, said, "What excites me about India is the sophistication of what clients are looking for. They want advisors who can navigate complexity, think globally, and deliver institutional-grade solutions. That's precisely what we're building at Lighthouse Canton. Gurjeet is a leader who has spent his career doing exactly this. His experience, his understanding of UHNW clients, and his ability to build high-performing teams make him the ideal person to take our India wealth business forward. I'm delighted to welcome him."

Gurjeet Sohi, Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management for India, said, "Lighthouse Canton has built a differentiated platform that brings together wealth management, asset management and institutional capabilities in a unified architecture. The opportunity to contribute to the next phase of the company’s India growth is exciting. I look forward to working with the team to enhance our engagement with clients and deliver sophisticated solutions that address the evolving needs of India's growing wealth segment."

These appointments follow Lighthouse Canton's recent US$40 million fundraise led by Peak XV, Nextinfinity and Qatar Insurance Company, with the company deploying capital to accelerate its expansion and enhance its platform capabilities. It marked its tenth anniversary as a global investment institution in 2025 with several strategic milestones, including strengthening its technology infrastructure, expanding advisory and capital solutions offerings, and scaling London operations. These initiatives collectively reinforce Lighthouse Canton's commitment to global coverage and institutional excellence.
